چکیده
An empirical study of masonry wall repair is presented in the current work. The textile reinforced mortar used for comprises a stainless-steel grid embedded cement matrix. This composite was applied locally and along cracks, on previously damaged unreinforced wall. repaired then subjected to pushover load until its maximal strength reached. Results configurations indicate that recovery, even gain initial stiffness strength, achieved. Finite-element simulations walls were carried out with an innovative approach modelling. main features experimental Unreinforced Masonry Wall reproduced. Finally, generated assess several degrees damage. Using this model, crack patterns investigated effects different are discussed.

A homogenization approach for the limit analysis of out-of-plane loaded masonry walls
This paper addresses the usage of a simplified homogenization technique for the analysis of masonry subjected to out-of-plane loading. The anisotropic failure surface, based on the definition of a polynomial representation of the stress tensor components in a finite number of sub-domains, is combined with finite element triangular elements employed for the upper and lower bound limit analyses. ...
متن کاملForce-based Finite Element for Modelling the Cyclic Behaviour of Unreinforced Masonry Piers
A performance-based seismic assessment of unreinforced masonry (URM) buildings requires the use of reliable models, able to predict their nonlinear force-displacement response including their displacement capacity. Among the possible methodologies, at different levels of complexity, macro-modelling using structural component elements has proved to be an approach that can provide satisfactory ac...
متن کاملFinite Element Analyses for Centrifuge Modelling of Narrow MSE Walls
High transportation demand has led to widening of existing roadways to improve traffic flow. In some cases, the space available on site is limited and the construction of earth retaining walls is done in front of previously stabilized walls. This can lead to retaining wall designs that are narrower than those addressed in current design guidelines. Narrow walls are Mechanically Stabilized Earth...
متن کاملFinite Element Studies in the Out-Of-Plane Failure of Unreinfored Masonry
This paper describes finite element studies of one-way out-of-plane failure of unreinforced masonry walls under static loading. The studies are early steps in the development of a method that will be applicable to two-way out-of-plane failure of walls under dynamic loading. The approach is based on a discrete-crack approach, where mortar beds are modelled using contact-interface elements, and m...
متن کاملin-plane behavior of confined masonry walls with and without opening
confined masonry buildings are used in rural and urban areas of iran. they performed almost satisfactoryduring past moderate earthquakes of iran. there is not a methodology in iranian seismic code (standard 2800-3rdedition) to estimate their capacities quantitatively. in line with removing this constraint, an attempt is made to studyin-plane behavior of two squared confined masonry walls with a...
